The name PaloSanto is translated as ‘holy stick’ and it is believed that PaloSanto can remove ‘mala energia’ - bad energy, from your home. Its use is said to date back to the Inca era.
From a holistic perspective, there is an unequivocal connection between the body, mind, and soul, and so when PaloSanto is burned in a space it can chase away negative energy, and cleanse one's aura.
To get the best Palo Santo oil, the wood must be harvested in a very specific way. Palo Santo trees come to a ripe age from 50 to 70 years. Once the tree dies of natural causes, it has to be left for five to eight years for the oils in the wood to mature enough to make superior-quality oil and incense.
