Silver fir - a little history

The silver fir is an evergreen coniferous tree reaching a height of up to 60 m and a great longevity of about 400 years. In mythology, the fir is considered a sacred tree - the embodiment of harmony, order in the universe and beautiful relationships in the family. In ancient times it was perceived as the "axis of the world". Viewed from above, the fir represents a kind of projection of the universe and the movement of the heavenly bodies. The name "fir" is an etymological analogue of the concept "yol", which the ancient celts used to denote the day of the winter solstice. The silver fir radiates beauty, strength and dignity, that is why it is called "queen of the forest". Elm branches symbolize pagan beliefs, the victory of light over darkness, as well as the christmas spirit. The energy of the white fir allows the tree to absorb the pain of inflammatory processes. It especially selectively takes the negative energy from the person and recharges it with the pure natural energy flow of its bioenergy. By doing this, white fir helps to improve well-being, relieve stress, cure various diseases.

Silver fir resin is a true natural antibiotic. It has bactericidal properties, so once applied to a wound or scratch, it will inhibit the growth of bacteria. Due to its sticky nature, the resin can be applied directly to the bleeding cut to help stop the blood flow and close the wound. The white fir spreads health around itself. Majestic and proud, withstanding severe cold, wind and snow, the white fir is a true survivor among tree species.

Supports a healthy respiratory system

White fir oil can be very helpful for respiratory problems and is a great preventative against the spread of viral and bacterial infections. Inhaling its vapors eases breathing, reduces inflammatory processes in the nasopharynx, facilitates the release of sputum, soothes the mucous membrane, has an antispasmodic and analgesic effect, without side effects. If you have a cold, stuffy nose, cough or sore throat, don't worry, white fir essential oil is the solution you need. Just put 5 drops of white fir oil in a diffuser or add to a carrier oil to use for rubbing and massaging.

Provides pain relief

Silver fir essential oil is a natural relaxant that restores the body after muscle fatigue, tension and stress. It is also used in complex therapy for rheumatism, arthrosis, arthritis, helping to stop the aging of cartilage, to restore blood circulation, to stimulate mobility and to speed up the recovery process after injuries and fractures. If you're dealing with a minor bone fracture, applying white fir oil topically to the affected areas up to three times a day can help and potentially speed up the healing process.

If you suffer from chronic pain conditions, movement can be a challenge for you. Fortunately, there are natural alternatives. To relieve persistent muscle pain, simply mix a few drops of white fir essential oil with a carrier oil and rub onto sore muscles. You can also add 3 to 4 drops of white fir oil to a hot compress or warm bath to reduce pain and promote relaxation.

It has a pronounced anti-aging effect

The antioxidant properties of silver fir oil fight against free radicals and can prevent premature aging of the skin. Mix 2 drops of silver fir oil with 1 ml. carrier oil or add to your usual skin care cream and apply it to the affected areas in a circular motion. This stimulating application to the skin leads to a slight coagulation of the skin proteins, thus enhancing the natural beauty of the skin and preserving its youth. Silver fir oil is used as an ingredient in cream compositions for rejuvenating the body and facial skin.

MEDICAL APPLICATIONS OF SILVER FIR OIL

Silver fir essential oil is known to support a healthy respiratory system and has a soothing effect on muscles. A 2009 study investigated the chemical composition, cytotoxicity, and biological activities of white fir oil. The antibacterial activity of the oil against Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus mutans, Listeria monocytogenes, Acinetobacter baumannii, Escherichia coli and Vibrio parahaemolyticcus was also evaluated using the disk diffusion method. The results of the study show that silver fir oil exhibits antibacterial activity against the bacterium Staphylococcus aureus. A 2019 study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of a dispersion of white fir and lemon essential oil to reduce microbial contamination in two hospital wards of a 1,227-bed emergency hospital in Austria. After dispersing the essential oils, a reduction in both bacterial and fungal contamination was observed.
