Essences Bulgaria on BNT’s “Brazdi” TV Program

We’re sharing another favorite moment from this November—our very first appearance on a Bulgarian National Television program: “Brazdi”! One of the most exciting days we’ve spent out in the field so far.
We’re sharing another favorite moment from this November—our very first appearance on Bulgarian National Television’s “Brazdi”! One of the most thrilling days we’ve had in the field to date.
Let us tell you how the filming day went. The sky was dark and brooding. It was raining in Ruse, and we expected rain in our village of Semerdzhievo as well. Only the wind gave us hope that it might scatter the clouds.
At noon, the Brazdi car appeared on the dusty road, and at that very moment the sun smiled over our farm. Our guests turned out to be just as warm.
With great skill and professionalism, the filming of the report unfolded.
First in front of the camera stood Yonatan Middendorf—one of the founders of Essences Bulgaria. He spoke about why he decided to stay in Bulgaria and how he began cultivating walnut saplings and herbs—a long journey filled with setbacks as well as many joys and successes. Beyond the engaging story, he also demonstrated how to plant a walnut sapling.
We also introduced you to Pavlina Middendorf—Yonatan’s wife and one of the driving forces behind Essences Bulgaria. She shared more about how they discovered intriguing and uncommon herbs like Moldavian dragonhead. The essential oil obtained from it is described as the uncut diamond among oils and is rapidly gaining popularity among aromatherapists and scientists studying the power of essential oils worldwide. Host Grigor Malinov was amazed by the beauty of this lesser-known plant—its blue-violet blossoms resemble little dragons, which is how it got its name.
We also brought you together with Veliko Angelov—co-founder of Essences Bulgaria—who spoke about the oil-bearing Damask rose. Surprisingly to many, it thrives very well in the Danube Plain and the quality of its oil is excellent. He also shared what sets our organic Damask rose floral water apart.
And of course, once again we express our gratitude and wish the “Brazdi” team at BNT success, a wide audience, and captivating stories! Special thanks to host Grigor Malinov!
You can find more about the program and upcoming topics on the BNT website.
We hope you found our encounter interesting. We wish for many more such appearances and opportunities to tell you more about our calling and greatest passion—growing herbs and producing essential oils! Until we meet again!
